Memorable Weddings

2014 was a massive year when it came to weddings. We saw daring new trends in gowns and decorations alike, as well as some pretty heartwarming and touching stories. This past year also proved to be huge in the world of celebrity weddings as well, from Hollywood’s #1 Bachelor finally saying “I Do” to two Dug gar girls saying their vows mere months apart. Here, we’re listing the year’s most talked about and most memorable weddings!

Jessica Simpson & Eric Johnson

The couple first announced their engagement back in 2010, but their plans were put on hold after Simpson became pregnant with daughter Maxwell and, later on, son Ace Knute. During the long engagement, the couple entertained a multitude of wedding ideas, even a destination wedding in Capri. In the end, the pair went the more traditional route and stayed close to home at the extravagant San Ysidro Ranch with their Fourth of July wedding weekend. The bride stunned in a glittery custom Carolina Herrera creation.

Lauren Conrad & William Tell

Fashion mogul and former Laguna Beach and The Hills star Lauren Conrad wed lawyer and musician William Tell in a very Pinterest-worthy ceremony this September. Conrad designed her bridesmaids’ gowns, with all of them wearing something from her collection from Paper Crown. As for her own dress, she collaborated with Badgley Mischka to create a stunning and one-of-a-kind gown adorned with Chantilly and Alencon lace.

Amal Alamuddin & George Clooney

The world was shocked when actor/director/notable bachelor George Clooney announced his engagement to London-based human rights lawyer Amal Alamuddin in April. But after a whirlwind romance the pair wed in a lavish ceremony in Venice. The star-studded guest list included Matt Damon, Emily Blunt, Anna Wintour, and even Bill Murray. Alamuddin wowed in an off-the-shoulder, lace bedecked Oscar de la Renta gown.

Jill Duggar & Derick Dillard

After a much-publicized courtship on the TLC show 19 Kids and Counting, eldest Duggar daughter Jill walked down the aisle on June 21 in her hometown of Springdale, Arkansas. Over 1,000 guests joined the family, with the ceremony ending in Jill and Derick’s first kiss. The bride stayed traditionally modest while still looking beautiful in a lacy short-sleeved gown. Younger sister Jessa followed suit on November 1, marrying Ben Seewald in an equally sweet ceremony.
