2016 WEDDING TRENDS: TRUE ROMANCE

It’s beginning to look like 2015 will be a year of romantic nostalgia! Trends from bygone eras are making a comeback, but with more and more couples adding a special touch to ensure a completely unique day.

A few months ago we reported on what’s going to be popular for bridal gowns, and it looks like the light-as-air look will carry on into the next year, but with a few twists. Capelets, which are a great alternative for brides who want to cover up minus the sleeves, are making a huge bang in the bridal world.

Color is also going to be huge in 2015. While we became familiar with the popular pastel pink rocked by many brides including Kaley Cuoco, Jessica Biel, and Reese Witherspoon, designers are going out of the box with a variety of pastel, and even metallic, shades. With Monique Lhuillier debuting a pistachio gown and Kelly Faetanini unveiling a gorgeous silvery-lavender creation in their Spring 2015 lines, we’ll be sure to see many brides wearing pops of color on their big day in the future!

When it comes to flowers in 2015, bigger is definitely better. Full, luscious blooms like hydrangeas, peonies, and English roses are taking center stage in floral arrangements that prove to be versatile for many wedding themes while definitely keeping up a romantic air.

Another returning trend is that of the edible favor! While we still think that trinkets like bookmarks and ornaments are adorable, more and more brides are sending guests home with treats they can’t wait to dig into! On top of their devour-ready status, there really is a treat for each season! Something sweet like honey goes perfectly with a spring wedding while hot cocoa warms up a¬†winter wedding.
